Perini Sullivan Counseling Services is dedicated to helping you identify areas of your life that can be improved and supporting you in achieving your goals.

We understand that life can be a struggle, whether you are facing a divorce, a breakup, the loss of a loved one, retirement, complicated personal relationships, or difficulties with a life-changing event or diagnosis. Our team is here to help you get through these challenges.

We cannot control how the people around us react or behave. However, we can use techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to address our own triggers and reactions to life events. By doing so, we can strive to be the best version of ourselves and learn positive coping techniques, regardless of the circumstances surrounding us.

Tamara E. Perini, LICSW

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Social Work and Sociology from Regis College and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work and Social Policy from Boston College.

I have been a social worker since 2000. I have worked in many settings:

  • Hospitals
  • Crisis Services
  • Nursing Homes
  • Assisted Living Communities
  • Therapy/Counseling Provider
  • Department of Developmental Services
  • Department of Children and Families
  • Consulting Services

My positions have allowed me to master the skills to work with people struggling with various mental health disorders, addiction, coping with death and dying, family and marital issues, Post Traumatic Stress Disorders (PTSD), and trauma.

I genuinely want you to feel comfortable and safe when working with me. I want you to know you are not in this alone. Together, we will work on strategies that allow you to address what you identify as your primary area of concern and build a treatment plan that will work for you to improve your quality of life.

I use different therapeutic approaches customized to your needs. The techniques I utilize range from CBT, SMART Recovery to mindfulness. I do not treat patients with a "one size fits all" approach.  An example of this is that I not only offer in person office visits, I offer telehealth visits, and even able to offer "walk and talk" therapy, where we can take a walk during our visit. Together, we will look at your “Big Picture” and decide what approach will work best for you.

I am here for you and look forward to meeting you!

I have dedicated my career to social work, spanning over 23 years. I hold a bachelor's degree in sociology from the College of Mount Saint Vincent in New York, and a master's degree in social work from Boston University.

My experience includes working as a clinician and social worker in two hospitals. I have worked in various dynamic environments ranging from emergency departments where quick assessments are necessary, to collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate trauma and mental health services. Additionally, I am certified in SMART recovery and offer Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients recognize and change unhelpful patterns of thinking and behavior.

In my practice, I aim to collaborate with you, nurture and guide you through your concerns. We will work together to create a proactive treatment plan that caters to your individual needs, using a solution-focused approach. You can choose from in-person office sessions or telehealth sessions, depending on your preference and situation.

With a strong passion for helping others live their best lives, I am committed to supporting you through awareness, insight, and encouragement.
